Who Are We?

Inspire was set up in 1999 in response to unmet need for adults with learning disabilities who were falling through the net of other provision. Even though much has changed there is still a great need for the service provided by Inspire. We are a small community based charity, and operate in Nottinghamshire.

Our focus is to give our members the practical and emotional support they need to lead full and independent lives. We do this through a variety of methods, such as career and skills training, creative programmes and leisure activities. These offer members a plethora of transferable skills that will allow them to gain confidence as well as offer them necessary life skills.

We are based in the heart of Nottingham’s city centre, and run a charity shop on Mansfield Road. All proceeds from the shop go towards the running of our charity. We also operate at the International Community Centre, which is a 30 second walk from our headquarters. Both locations are easily accessible by foot or on public transport, and are almost directly opposite Intu Victoria Centre.
