Inclusive Technology

Funding from Awards for All enabled us to develop an ‘Inclusive Technologies’ project to address the high levels of digital exclusion faced by people with learning disabilities.

PCs, laptops and an interactive smart-board provide members with the opportunity to learn and develop their computer skills on all our courses. The introduction of laptops has been particularly successful, with some members accessing a computer for the first time. They are able to gain skills in Word, Powerpoint and Publisher, as well as blogging and app design.

IT is directly used in our Multimedia IT weekly classes, where members can learn a range of IT skills on our laptops and other equipment. In addition, the equipment aids our photography, film-making, music and new groups sessions.
